Outreach

Outreach is one of the ways MCF strives to outwardly demonstrate that we are set apart, by grace through faith. There is no set Out-Reach coordinator for this year, however, the whole exec will be working together to organize various out-reach events. In past years, these events included:
  • Homeless Ministry - members of MCF would get together and prepare meals for the homeless around downtown Montreal. While distributing food, there is always the opportunity to explain why you'd be taking time away from your personal schedule to spend it and talk to the homeless. A great way to be a witness for Jesus.

  • Trick-or-eat - between Thanksgiving and Christmas, there seems to be a lack of canned goods in food banks. By going around on Halloween night and collecting non-perishable items instead of candy, MCF has been able to do their part. Not to mention the dressing up in great costumes!

  • Operation Christmas Child - during the Christmas season, MCFers would pick up these shoe boxes and fill them with goodies for less fortunate children so that they can be blessed and experience the joys of Christmas!

  • Dorm Service Project - Something new that started up this year is that we organize a group of MCFers to go to various McGill residences to offer to clean our fellow students' rooms. It's amazing how sweeping, swiffering, taking out garbage and doing dishes speak volumes for putting God's love into action.

  • Hot Chocolate Ministry - in the midst of exams, MCF has often given out free hot chocolate to students going to and from the library. On cold wintry days, this is most welcome and gives us the chance to share about Jesus and what He's done for us.
So outreach is our way to be ambassadors for Christ on campus and in Montreal.
